Purchasing or Refinancing a Home? Shop Around!

Consult at least three mortgage companies before deciding which one is right for you.

Consult at least three mortgage companies before deciding which one is right for you.

When researching purchasing or refinancing options for your home, if the offer looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Consider the following tips and make sure to shop around for your best option:

  • Consult with the Better Business Bureau to check an organization's credentials, reviews and possible red flags. Only engage with trustworthy organizations!

  • Be mindful of big mortgage companies that run expensive television advertisements. They probably fund these flashy marketing initiatives by passing the costs off onto their clients, charging higher rates and fees. Do you want to pay for their commercials? Probably not.

  • At a minimum, consider the services of (3) different companies when purchasing or refinancing a home. This allows for a true 'apples to apples' comparison when it comes to rates and fees. Investigating the services of multiple companies will help you feel familiar with the current market.

  • When it comes to choosing your loan consultant, use your intuition. Work with someone who allows you to feel comfortable asking questions and seems very knowledgable about the process. A friendly, informed advisor will make the process of purchasing or refinancing smooth and simple.

  • Many times a Realtor will have good contacts but that doesn't mean your getting the best deal for yourself. Always get a few more quotes and ask for a closing cost worksheet to see who's giving the best deal in rates and fees.

At Premier Mortgage Consultants, we will offer the lowest possible rates and the best possible service. If we can assist you with your home loan needs, please contact us.
